Weather Forecast
Hot, dry winds originating from Balochistan will prevail in the morning, creating sweltering conditions throughout the day. Brief relief is expected in the evenings with the return of coastal sea breezes, while humidity levels will rise in the morning and remain moderate through the afternoon.
According to the PMD, these conditions do not yet meet the official criteria for a heatwave, which would require sea breezes to be continuously blocked, temperatures to exceed 40°C for three days in a row, and humidity levels to go beyond 60 percent. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz explained that, with humidity levels ranging between 20 and 30 percent, conditions will fall short of a full heatwave. On Thursday, temperatures reached 39.2°C, with a heat index of 39°C due to relatively low humidity.
Meanwhile, rural areas of Sindh, including Sajawal, Thatta, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar, could see temperatures climb as high as 42°C.
The PMD advises residents to take precautions during this period of extreme heat by staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak heat hours, wearing sun protection, and taking breaks in shaded areas whenever possible. For the latest weather forecasts and advisories, residents are encouraged to stay connected with PMD updates.
