Private Hospital Faces Suspension Over Kidney Transplant Rules Breach

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) has suspended kidney transplantation services at Max Health Hospital for failing to adhere to organ transplant regulations, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday. The suspension was imposed after the hospital failed to comply with rules mandating the formation of an evaluation committee, a requirement under the HOTA Act of 2010. Max Health Hospital’s failure to comply with this directive prompted immediate action to protect patient welfare and maintain medical standards. To address the irregularities, the HOTA administrator has formed an inquiry committee to investigate discrepancies in the hospital’s transplantation practices. The committee has been tasked with compiling a detailed report and submitting recommendations by December 13.The findings will guide strict disciplinary measures against those found responsible for the violations. The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring compliance with organ transplantation laws and safeguarding patient rights. This committee is tasked with examining the reported discrepancies and compiling a detailed report along with recommendations by December 13.

The findings will serve as the basis for strict disciplinary measures against those found culpable.
