Now Buy AIOU Books Online from Anywhere in Pakistan
— February 20, 2025
ISLAMABAD (AIA) Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched an online bookstore, enabling teachers, researchers, and students across Pakistan to purchase books from home. The store offers textbooks for programmes ranging from matriculation to PhD.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood inaugurated the bookstore on Thursday in a ceremony attended by university officials, deans, and professors. He directed that the book selection, purchasing process, and payment methods be made as simple and user-friendly as possible.
Emphasising customer convenience, the vice chancellor instructed that books be searchable by name, code, and programme category. He also stressed financial transparency, mandating proper records of sales and payments.
He set a February 28 deadline for relevant departments to fully implement these measures, stock books in the online store, and streamline the purchasing process.
Currently, AIOU delivers textbooks by post to students enrolled in matriculation, FA, and associate degree programmes, while books for other courses are available online.
To further facilitate students, a physical bookstore has also been set up on campus, allowing students to buy books in person or online. Online orders will be processed after advance payments, with deliveries handled by Pakistan Post. The vice chancellor also instructed discussions with Pakistan Post to ensure efficient and reliable book deliveries.
