— November 21, 2024
ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has announced a photographic competition to celebrate International Mountain Day 2024, observed on December 11. This year’s theme, “Mountain Solutions for a Sustainable Future—Innovation, Adaptation, and Youth,” underscores the need to preserve mountainous landscapes and promote sustainable development.
The competition seeks to engage youth, inspire innovation, and raise awareness about mountains’ critical role in fostering a sustainable future. As part of PTDC’s broader efforts to celebrate Pakistan’s natural heritage, the initiative also aims to encourage responsible tourism under the motto, “Leave Nothing but Footprints.”
Amateur and professional photographers are invited to participate, capturing Pakistan’s mountainous beauty while reflecting themes of sustainability. Participants can showcase creativity through images featuring cultural heritage, mountain lifestyles, landscapes, adventure sports, or the flora and fauna of mountain regions.
The top three prizes in the amateur category are Rs. 30,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000, while the professional category offers Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000, and Rs. 20,000. Entries must be submitted by December 2 via the competition’s online portal.
