— April 29, 2025
ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Ministry of Housing and Works has officially notified the Allotment of Temporary Accommodation in the Federal Lodges and Hostel Rules, 2025.
The rules are designed to regulate the allotment of accommodation and ensure the smooth functioning of federal lodges and hostels, with an emphasis on maintaining order and accountability.
Under the new rules, all lodges and hostels specified in the schedule will be managed by the relevant administrative division. The initial allotment period is set at three years, with the possibility of extension on a yearly basis for up to two additional years, depending on the reasons provided.
The rules apply to both bachelor and single rooms. Allotments will be made strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Allottees will be held accountable for any damage or loss caused during their stay and will be responsible for bearing the corresponding costs.
Other key provisions address catering and supplies, maintenance of decorum, timely payment of dues by allottees, and the availability of a complaints register.
In addition, the rules detail procedures for cancellation of allotments and eviction where necessary.
