Punjab Launches Groundbreaking Food Delivery Project to Ease Inflation Burden

LAHORE (AIA) In a bid to cushion citizens from soaring inflation, the Punjab government has rolled out its pioneering free home delivery project for essential food items, spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The Punjab Sahulat Bazar Authority is spearheading the initiative, offering 13 staple food items at prices up to 7% lower than officially notified rates. The service, currently operational in 35 cities through 46 convenience markets, has successfully fulfilled over 312,000 orders.
“This project is a lifeline for the common man, shielding them from price hikes and ensuring access to quality food,” said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, announcing plans to expand the service across Punjab.
The move underscores the government’s commitment to addressing food security concerns and alleviating economic pressures on vulnerable populations.
