Rawal Dam Spillways to be Reopened as Precautionary Measure

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The spillways of Rawal Dam will be reopened on Monday at 6:00 AM as a precautionary measure to enhance water storage capacity in anticipation of potential rainfall in the upper catchment areas. The spillways are expected to remain open for approximately five hours.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a public advisory, urging residents in surrounding areas to maintain a safe distance from the water front. Additionally, the general public is advised to avoid unnecessary movement, while fishermen and boaters are cautioned to stay away from the water during this period.
