Unregistered Bykea Motorcycles Roam Karachi, Raising Safety Concerns

Karachi (AIA) Unregistered motorcyclists operating under the guise of “Bykea” have emerged on the roads of Karachi, leaving commuters baffled.
A recent survey has revealed a concerning trend: bikes that are not registered with the Bykea company are using helmets branded with the company logo, offering rides across the city, and charging arbitrary fees.
Citizens are calling upon the Sindh government and traffic police authorities to take decisive action against these unauthorized Bykea riders.
Many motorcyclists are buying company helmets from the market, offering rides to citizens, and raising questions regarding accountability and safety. Calls are being made for Bykea to allot helmets with their identification numbers to registered riders only.
Reports indicate sightings of unregistered Bykea motorcycles bearing the Bykea logo, operating in various parts of the city, including heavily trafficked areas like Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, and Nazimabad.
Commuters have voiced concerns about the lack of regulation and the potential risks associated with using the services of these unregistered riders. This survey highlights the pressing need for stricter regulations and enforcement in the transport sector to ensure public safety
